    Mortar differences?

    Posted: 07 Jan 2020 10:23 AM PST

What are the differences per faction? I tested the setup/teardown times and they all seemed to be the same.

Other than abilities, are the stats the same?

How can you get the most out of equipped weapons?

    Posted: 07 Jan 2020 01:37 PM PST

Hi new player here sorry if these Q,s are answered elsewhere but I want to maximise using equipable weapons. I mainly play UKF.

    • I gather equipping a weapon removes the "base" weapon from that soldier? So if I pick up a shrek on the ground with some cammandos, I lose a tommy gun. Meaning it is now much worse anti-infantry. Is it therefore better to only pick up weapons that complement your squad, or are bonus weapons nearly always worth having as a freebie?
    • Is there a known drop rate for carried weapons? Dropping shreks, brens, flamethrowers etc seems random to me. Is there a way to maximise this? Are certain weapons more prone to drop? Can you're first soldier in the squad to die be the one carrying the weapon and drop? It seems the weapons are passed along to the surviving members and can only be dropped with a wipe?
    • In relation to the above, If I have a squad with 2 carried weapons that goes down to only 1 soldier, (e.g. by crewing an AT), do I loose the additional weapon? Should I ensure these squads always have 2 people?
    • Is there anyway to drop or swap weapons? This is mainly because I accidently crew someone with a PIAT and then i'd rather a group of engineers had it.

Any other tips on using equipped weapons very welcome!!! Thanks for the help!

    P47 Gun Strafe

    Posted: 07 Jan 2020 03:42 PM PST

Where do you use it or is it just unusable. Tried it for a couple games does no damage barely pins and takes for forever. (It was on big 2v2 maps that could be the issue with time.)

Where do you guys use it and when? Or is another super situational one.

(COH2) Are g43 worth it over the mg42 upgrade for grenediers?

    Posted: 07 Jan 2020 10:42 AM PST

I know that g43 are better if you are moving but what's better generally?

    OKW double sturmpio opening

    Posted: 07 Jan 2020 02:04 AM PST

So, every time I see the strength of sturmpios or OKW build orders discussed, the base assumption is that you run around with your starting sturmpio and immediately buy a volks to back them up. Which is fair enough, volks are your mainline infantry, but I really like my aggressive infantry play.

So I usually open up with purchasing a second sturmpio and only then start making volks, usually two of them before truck. This has been working out pretty well for me so far, because while yes, the sturmpios are somewhat pricy, I can pretty reliably leverage their close-range firepower to win the initial engagement and then bounce off of that. And then later in the game their combat effectiveness drops off, but now you have two sturmpios to put schrecks on, lay mines, do repairs etc.

Now, I haven't heard of anyone else doing that, so there have to be some more downsides to it I am not noticing. So, has anyone else around here considered or even being doing double sturmpio openings? Or is there some reason I am not accounting for why doing volks is just plain better? Or have I stumbled upon a really uncommon but viable opener?
