- How do you deal with OKW strumpioneer rushes as the Soviets? They keep on jumping over obstacles firing point blank and rushing my maxims because of a small arc, poor suppression, and long setup?
- Whats the best commander for 1v1 Wermacht at the moment?
- This is what happens when you spam out 5 of these bad boys in under 5 minutes and rush the enemy.
- Why do both axis factions have access to command point 0 units? This prevents allies from winning early engagements. All I see in games is people blobing assault grenadiers and panzerfusiliers nowadays. Why do I have to spend manpower to compensate for infantry I don't intend to keep?

OKW players, why do you keep placing your schwer so close to the frontlines? Posted: 12 Feb 2020 06:33 PM PST In teamgames there's always this problem (or decent inconvenience for allies) for OKW players to place their schwerer panzer headquarters close to the front lines instead of at the back. Yes the gun is good for suppressing infantry, but there's no brace for impact like what British emplacements - and when the allies get pak howitzers/anti tank guns, that thing turns into rubble real quick and you lose 150 fuel and 300 manpower. That's not the worst of it - in order to get a tank other than the king tiger, you'd need to rebuild that schwer all over again, and had you put that hq at a safe location, you could have 2 panzer 4s or something else. EVEN WORSE, you still send these sws trucks to the front line and waste even more fuel to build more frontline hqs to be destroyed by arrays of artillery. If you'd want some map control, use the flak track or a HMG - that does the exact same thing, are a lot more mobile, cheaper, and you don't lose your tech when you lose it. This isn't a rant or anything, but when I see people ram their head on a brick wall, say it sucks, and ram their head on the wall again, I'd wonder if they have a few screws lose up there. Are Airborne Guards worth building? Posted: 12 Feb 2020 03:28 PM PST I ran some tests with them and they lose badly 1v1 to Obersoldaten despite costing more and having a more expensive upgrade. The Obersoldaten have 2 models and ~50% HP left when they kill the guards. They lose to Fallschimjagers too though not as badly, the Falls only had 1 model left. They can beat grenadiers though that's not saying much given they cost 140 manpower more. They don't have any AT abilities so you are pretty much only buying them for anti-infantry, and they just don't seem very good at it. Is there a way to use AGs to get some value out of them? Posted: 12 Feb 2020 04:54 PM PST How do you counter this as OKW, pre 10 minute BOFORS covering every Victory point and cut offs, ill happily put the recording up if anyone wants to look, cos i cant fathom, OKW mortar seems weak as hell and they just brace structure and saving for stukka takes to long to build and isnt direct enough imo (maybe 1 shell hits thanks to RNG) and MG morters just get harrased by the brit Also feel like my team mate was letting me down as i was able to cut off, my side and was asking him over chat to move guys into the other VP so i can smoke screen and slow the tick to build something that can actually counter at distance like a Puma or jagd. but by this point he had lost all his units and they had tanks out. PSA Please don't use coh to try and feel superior to others Posted: 12 Feb 2020 08:40 PM PST Context: I was playing tonight with my best friend and some guy was being kinda rude, rubbing the fact that he was winning in our faces. But you know, it's the internet, of course people are going to be rude. I thought nothing of it at first. But he kept going so I tried to play along, you know, join in the fun because i thought he was just teasing. But once i did that, this guy just seemed to get super angry and started talking in a way where he was trying to assert his dominance and started using racial slurs. It was bizarre. So i have to ask that if you feel the need to do this, to use COH as a means to feel superior to others, please dont. And i have three reasons why: 1) just kinda ruins the fun, at best it's annoying. 2) it doesn't really work. Beating me in a video game doesn't make me feel submissive to you 3) But the real reason I'm furious us because I'm playing this game with my best friend who is a brand spanken new player, and i have had to wear him down for years to convince him to give this game a try with me and not 5 games in this guy comes in and gives my friend a bad impression of the game, so, once again, if you need some way to deal with your inferiority complex, don't use COH for that. Posted: 12 Feb 2020 03:53 AM PST This puzzles me as to why it could be considered balanced. I know that they need to get veterancy, but that's exactly the problem. Playing as the Soviets you HAVE to build other units before getting 2 command points. Shock troops and guards might as well be nerfed and be available at CP 0 with veterancy upgrades. Imagine that your units are getting wiped by shock troops that upgrade and become unstoppable? Also given the recent patch the devs intend to make assault section 0 CP and the equivalent of shock troops. Are you ready for Blobs of Heroes? Regardless of what you think, I believe you have to concur that 0 command point units guts early game micro and strategy completely. [link] [comments] | ||
