- I am ranked 1100ish Brits, and played rank 9th OKW player today... COH matchmaking at its best. I lasted less than 10 minutes :-(. Anyone else had this before?

| CoH 2 factions summarized in two sentences by AngryHorizon: Posted: 28 Apr 2021 11:17 AM PDT AXIS Wehrmacht: We have specialized team equipment and supply an all purpose armor and Commander complement; however, our range is limited. We lack manpower reserves as we lack a constant front line presence. OKW: We bring manpower and Commanders with special units as we maintain a front line presence. Our power comes from early sacrifice leading to inflicting unsustainable attrition from our experienced Special units. ALLIED Soviets: We bring it all from manpower to equipment to sacrifice to specialized assets. The Americans gave us a truck and we put our rockets on it; Nobody gets through this many bodies. USF: It doesn't matter how good your infantry or assets are; We keep producing average unit after average unit until you alt-f4 and swear off the game. That's when we attack on Christmas night with no shoes because we don't give a garden. Brits: What? We paid the US and Russia to fight Germany after we defended our emplaced positions heroically. | Are T34-85s not really worth it anymore? Posted: 28 Apr 2021 03:15 AM PDT Until a couple of years ago I used to really like Soviet commanders with T34-85 tanks. Great all rounder: not too expensive, can 1v1 panzer 4s, quick, good against infantry. They also seemed to plug a hole in the Soviet arsenal of being able to chase Axis heavy tanks and score killing blows. Fast forward to today and the base T34-76 is actually not bad against tanks. It used to be solely for fighting infantry and ramming heavy tanks so your AT guns / TDs could pound away at it. Now it can at least give a P4 something to think about and can score killing blows against heavy tanks if you get lucky with your RNG. Their cheap price also means you can build two quite easily for double the RNG. Is it worth trying to build T34-85s anymore in 1v1s and 2v2s? [link] [comments] |

| My gripes with Wehrmacht Ostheer Posted: 28 Apr 2021 02:08 AM PDT Hello. First of all, thank you for reading this; Second, this isn't supposed to be a post complaining about other factions being op or ostheer being up; Third, I am not calling for buffs. This is merely a post containing the things I dislike about Ostheer. With that out way, let's begin: 1 - The lack of a forward retreat point: This is the most major gripe I have with Ostheer. If you didn't know - all other armies have the ability to create forward retreat points (some with units (Major), and some with buildings (Battlegroup Headquarters)). Ostheer has the ability to create Medic bunkers, and bunkers, that can reinforce units, but not retreat bunkers. On the surface, it might not sound like a big deal, but on some maps, it can be extremely painful to see one retreat lose you the game because the enemy can take and create fortifications until your units return to the front. 2 - The lack of Elite Infantry units and Infantry unit size: Ostheer lacks Elite infantry units (like Obersoldallten, Rangers, and Commandos) and the squad size of almost all infantry units is 4. The squad size can be increased, but it forces you to pick the German Infantry Doctrine (which lacks heavy tanks). This really limits ost's infantry potential. This is somewhat made up for by the amazing team weapons. 3 - Lack of *Light Tanks*: I love that moment when you somehow defeat the enemy Infantry, place your 42s in the perfect spot, and then you see that T-70 coming for you. You can Faust it, but if the Russian player actually knows how to use it he will kite your grenadiers and slaughter your 42. Thank you again for reading this! | Posted: 28 Apr 2021 03:21 AM PDT The allied meta is just Infantry company for USF, Royal artillery for Brit and anything with AT overwatch for soviets lately game is so boringly stale it makes you want to quit solo queue is almost impossible to get a good game so unfortunately only way to play the game is to wait for friends to get on almost no point in making tanks because you're constantly getting arty'd or fighting fireflys, jacksons or su85s excluding the jackson I'd rather have any of them over a panther lately [link] [comments] |
