Idea: Let okw tiger 1 access your ost heavy camo skin.

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 04:25 PM PDT

I understand that applying okw camo to tiger 1 could be troublesome for the small team currently attending to coh2 but the okw tiger 1 could just use whatever ost heavy camo you currently have equipped. Any thoughts? Has someone already commented on this and I'm being redundant?!

German blob making my life hell.

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 08:55 PM PDT

    (Playing as soviets)

Whether it's OKW or Ostheer, I feel that while blobbing can technically be countered, it's impossible to keep your counter up and you always get overwhelmed.

MGs either get overwhelmed/flanked anyway, or destroyed by mortars. Light vehicles get swarmed and panzerfausted to death, or retreat at best. Any T3 vehicle take too much time to arrive, they have map control and have pumped out 2 tanks and 3 AT guns. Not even counting the super effective panzershreks on sturmpioneers and others.

It feels like when a german faction decides to blob, the only way it can lose is if the player makes a big mistake. If you try to anticipate and buy the counters to what will counter you blob counter, you don't have enough units to fight the blob. If you get enough units to fight the blob, you can't get enough supporting units to protect against armor, mortars etc...

I've gone to the forums, reddit, I've read and tried to apply blob counters. They never seem to be powerful enough to stop the blob in time until the death timer of german heavy armor arrival ends.

If you try to stay mobile and outplay the blob, the enemy player can just split it and crush you anyways : soviet units can very rarely 1v1 germans, weapon teams get flanked easily since the opponent has a blob, and thus a lot of units to make split attacks. It's like you need either two times as much ressources to counter it, or two times as much the amount of micro while they can just right click your units and just have to watch which of their own have to retreat and heal.

I'm totally disheartened, overly salted, and this is as much a rant as a call for help.

Guards ptrs actually good vs infantry now?

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 07:34 PM PDT

Haven't played in a while, since launch pretty much, but just got back into the game and it seems like my guards rifles are doing pretty well against anything that isn't a heavy tank.

Did they turbo buff the ptrs or something?

    Can models take fractional damage?

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 08:37 PM PDT

I was just looking at Cruzz's DPS entry for the Universal Carrier's Vickers K actually has an AoE radius of 2 units (which is the same as the main gun of the Easy8, for reference), but only deals 1 damage to anything not directly hit. This made me wonder how this interacts with green cover, which reduces incoming damage by 50%. Does green cover completely prevent the incoming damage? Does it not prevent any of it? Or can, and do, models take fractional damage?

I guess this question could apply to any AoE damage, which at some radii will deal odd amounts of damage. It just took this specific case for me ask the question.

    OKW Doctrine Idea: Captured Equipment

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 07:16 AM PDT

So, I've recently been looking up Allied equipment used by the Germans during the war, and saw that the Germans used captured equipment extremely frequently.

The Soviet PPSH-41 was the second most used SMG in the German army.

Enemy armor like Soviet T-34s, KV-1s and Americans Shermans of all types were used frequently as well.

So, here is the idea itself:

    Thorough Salvage - 0 CPs

"Sturmpioneers take longer to salvage, but also gain more resources from it."

(Self-explanatory, taken from the Scavange Doctrine)

Enemy Weapon Storage (PASSIVE) - 2 CPs

"Volksgrenadier and Obersoldaten squads can be equipped with stolen Soviet PPSH-41 SMGs."

(For 45 Munitions, you can equip a Volksgrenadier squad with 3 PPSH-41s, and for 2 PPSHs for an Obersoldaten Squad)

For The Fatherland! - 5 CPs

"Infantry in friendly territory will receive a defensive buff and movement speed increase for the duration of the ability. Lasts 30 Seconds."

(Self-explanatory, taken from the Overwatch Doctrine)

    Devastating Stuka JU-87G Strike - 7 CPs

"A squadron of 3 JU-87G Stukas will descend down upon a selected vehicle and strafe it with their powerful 3.7 cm Cannons, causing the enemy crew to panic and evacuate."

(Costs 125 Munitions, has an extremely long cooldown causes the vehicle to instantly de-crew itself, allowing it to be easily captured)

(Updated Version: Costs 250 Munitions, has an even longer cooldown, destroys light tanks, de-crews medium tanks, and stuns heavy tanks)

    Beutepanzer Deployment - 12 CPs

"A randomly selected previously stolen enemy tank will be deployed to the area."

(Costs 530 Manpower and 190 Fuel, spawns in 3 random Allied medium-to-heavy tanks, ranging from mere Shermans to T-34s to rare KV-1s and KV-2s)

(Updated Version: Costs 410 Manpower and 125 Fuel, spawns in one random Allied medium tank, ranging from T-34s and Shermans of all kind)

Most durable German infantry unit? Most Deadly? Worst? HELP ME

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 05:59 AM PDT

What are the most durable German infantry units (for both OKW & OSTEER, respectively)?

What are the most deadly (not necessarily most durable)?

What units do most everyone avoid building all together?

Returning player here, from years back.... allot has changed and I don't understand what's going on. All the "guides" for this game are so long out-of-date as to be useless.

Finding that all of the German infantry units melt ultra fast regardless of cover. 1v1 virtually any allied unit, the German unit melts to combat ineffectiveness very very quickly. Entire squad wipes can happen in a flash... whereas the allied player never has this concern.

I understand different units have different optimal ranges--though even accounting for this--German units still aren't winning engagements. Years ago, I eventually used PanzerFusiliers exclusively for their 6th model which gave them a bit more staying power, they also had great sight range and their rifle upgrade made them effective. They don't feel as deadly now so something must have changed, but... anyway... I'm lost.

P.S. The German MG is nearly useless now... wtf is the point of it? This game is so messed up now...
