How do i counter oberkommando west as the soviets (I am noob) Posted: 26 Dec 2019 05:51 PM PST English is not my first language. I am new to COH 2. I have about 8 hours ingame. Me and my friends have been playing 2v2 matches against each other. I've mainly been playing as the soviets. I dont really get the logic behind oberkommando west . So what i dont get about them and the soviets is: why can the germans build fortifications while soviets can only build shitty sandbags. + They can build field hospital truck, search light truck, anti air guns and stationary artillery. Why isnt the super heavy king tiger bound to a commander like the soviet super heavy. Why is the king tiger so much better than the soviet super heavy equvilant. How is it fair/how do i counter that they can field the Panzerjäger tiger at the same time as the king tiger. I haven't tried the 200mm howitzer since you have to buy the commander for it. But from my experience the katushas and the other artillery the soviets can field never seems to fully kill more than one battalion while the artillery they've been using usually wipes 2-3 of mine when they use theirs (I dunno if the arty strike is a commander ability. But if they can field all that and still use a powerful arty strike... seems kinda bs). How do i even counter artillery strikes. Since as soon as my troops are spotted they just get obliterated by it. How do i counter highly defended areas in general while not letting my guard down on the other points? The only upside I've heard about, for playing the soviets is cheap infantry. Oberkommando west seems kinda pay to win tbh. [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 26 Dec 2019 07:35 AM PST Hey reddit, Like most of us, I'd like to see more doctrines for the 3 newer factions. Especially since some of the released doctrines are not really useable. One of these commanders in a bad spot is the scavenge doctrine of the okw. Quick list: Ostwind Arty off map call in Grenade ability Light recon jaeger squad Extended scavenging This doctrine gave me a headache more then once but let's start with the pros in my perspective: The first unit we get out of this are the recon jaegers - nice killing unit if used in teams with Volks so they can stay in the back and do the killing. Nice camouflage and nice unit overall. The grenade ability is decent and if used correctly it can be really effective - especially because it only costs 15 ammo Personally I'd like to see different jaegers or at least let them spawn in buildings. Sadly that's about everything good I can say about this doctrine The arty call in is too expensive for the small area it covers - takes too long to finally hit and even if u have 200 extra ammo in storage the extra shells coming down are not worth it The better scavenging is a joke - there are barely any wrecks to scavenge until we hit the 15 minute mark or later - and even then there can be games where the 50-150 extra ammo I get out of this ability are just not worth the slot it takes in the doctrine. And finally the Ostwind Not enough - too late The Ostwind is definetly a nice unit but since it's in t3 with the cost of 90 oil it's in the game significantly later then it's OST Version and delays OKWs first actual tank by at least 8 minutes. Maybe more. And later on - after the first p4j or panther it's just not worth it anymore - by that point we played over 20 minutes without it and we didn't lose - so why not take a p4j instead and do the same vs inf and more vs vehicles. And oh you want AA ? Take the okw AA half track and have it before the 8 minute mark. Cheaper - earlier in the game - same AA capability and also able to hold off infantry as good as the Ostwind can + it pins WAY faster. Yes it dies faster but in the stage it comes on the field no enemy has more then 1 pak on the field so do your micro and it will live. My suggestion ? Make it available earlier in the game /replace it by something different. Normal Hetzer for t2/ Wirbelwind with WAY better anti inf capability compared to the Ostwind so its bad spot in the tech tree is justified or maybe even something new. But rn this doctrine is like many others over the game, not worth it. I guess many of you have similar doctrines in mind when thinking about your favorite faction. Mind sharing ? And level 10-12 should not be matched with level 16. The massive skill gulf leads to boring matches for the higher level players and frustrating matches for the lower level players. Cant connect to relic servers (Error code -4) HELP! Posted: 26 Dec 2019 07:18 AM PST I have Company of Heroes 2 on my mac and have not opened it in a while, but now every Time i open it and enter the Game it says it can't connect to Relic servers (error code -4). I am pretty sure i have updated it to the newest version and I have also a stable internet connection, plus when the game launcher Window opens it says my account is connected... Pls help!!!
