    CoH2 is My Covid Zen

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 09:56 AM PDT

CoH2 totally getting me through this surreal week. Had a great comeback on Faymonville last night. A bright spot in the otherwise bleak news around us. Thanks guys.

    SOV build orders vs OKW

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 05:30 AM PDT

vs OST Conscripts and T2 work rather well, but against OKW Conscripts just don't seem to cut it for me.

T1 Penals do very well against Volks and Scout car is of course very good for a very cheap price, but that means there is no cover against Luchs unless M-42 AT gun or Guards are chosen from a doctrine.

So what is the most optimal build order in SOV vs OKW, and what doctrine goes well with it? Airborne SVT's for Cons? Guards doctrines? M-42 doctrines?

And as an aside, what are the best doctrines that offer Guards, generally? I don't want one that just offers Guards and rest of it is meh.

223 scout car, hope they address this issue

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 11:00 PM PDT

i get a sneaking suspicion that the area where i plonk down the 223, is highlighted in the enemy's map even though they did not scout the area or is near it.

    Feature Suggestion (COH3)

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 10:52 PM PDT

I think Relic needs to add more flexible unit options like in Warhammer. The HMG and SMG weapon packages are great, but I'd like to see more flexibility with units too, maybe a multi large squad feature but with more freedom to assemble squads, ie. An officer, hmg, riflemen, and maybe engineers or submachinegun guys, also mortars and at guns could be assembled in the mix.

Relic could even bring back hero type units from COH1, but include them in matchmaking this way. Thoughts?

    Countering Axis rocket artillery (4v4)

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 08:17 PM PDT

My team (2 UKF 2 Soviets, level 5-6) has been struggling lately in countering axis rocket artillery in team games. After the battle lines are established in the mid-game, we tend to get fortified around important points with UKF emplacements and team weapons + infantry. Later we support it with tanks. The problem is they typically have their defensive line with a similar arrangement but with 1-2 then 3-4 rocket half-tracks (late game) which just shells the hell out of everything we have. Everything becomes a moonscape before we inevitably fall behind with their heavy tanks bleeding us of manpower.

We recently had success with concerted dives with a tank column on a flank. Counter artillery usually gets sniped by their Lefhs and rockets. Katys don't seem to do enough damage vs half-tracks to actually kill them.

How have other allied players countered the inevitable rocket artillery en mass?

Do you use all your panzerfaust if u meet an enemy tank?

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 01:46 AM PDT

Say you have 3 volks or grenadiers together capturing a point. Oh no! An enemy sherman has come and closing in to your infantry. Do you use all of their panzerfaust? What are the options if ii don't have AT capability nearby?

[Serious] Something has to be done about Leavers

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 01:21 PM PDT

I am a returning player. I was big on CoH1, tried CoH2 and hated it when it came out.

Recently reinstalled and loving it now. But my god I barely ever have a game where both teams stay to the end. How the fuck is this still tolerated in 2020, why can people who drop out of a game hop right into the next one.

Pack Howitzer is Awesome, but Useless (USF)

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 11:29 AM PDT

    Hello all,

I only use the t0 mortar when facing MG spam, usually I don't use any mortar. I've been playing a few team games lately and I've really fallen in-love with the pack howitzer. The range is great and the damage is amazing, I'd really like to bring it over into my 1v1s.

However, having to get tier 2 AND the upgrade just for the pack howie IS NUTS. Of course you get both officers because you need the AT gun, but the specialization? No. The AA half-track is trash compared to the m20 + Stuart opening.

Because the M20 + Stuart is so good in 1v1, it makes getting the pack howitzer incredibly resource intensive (and thus) not worth it... the extra fuel to get the specialization is too much.

I would like to see some type of rework, or perhaps a discount if you've gotten the t1 spec, which if its a 1v1 95% of the time you will get.

Anyone else think the pack howitzer is too hard/expensive to get in 1s? I'd like to see it get some love.

tl;dr the necessity of M20 + Stuart in 1v1 makes getting the pack howitzer too risky

    Scenario 1

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 05:23 AM PDT

Hello guys I have decided to ask scenario kind of stuff. Like what would you do if this happens.

It's the early game. Your Rifleman is pinned by Ostheer MG squad. You retreat them. What are some quickest way to f*ck them up?

Russians are a noob faction.. change my mind

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 12:45 PM PDT

Before you say that I didn't play with them, I did, and I win every single 1v1 with them, just feel bad for Germans when I play them.

Granted this is kinda realistic, Russians demolished Germans in ww2 but this is a game.

Every time I play against Soviets I know that if I as okw make a single wrong move, I'll get fucked, even if im holding everything, if I loose my 2 raketens, it's over, Russians can always easily bounce back from losses while okw and wehr have to fight tooth and nail for every point.

Russians are soooo versatile too. Zis has both arty and at, t70 has recon mode on top of having a tank commander that is a ubersoldier that reload the main gun at 50 rounds per minute and shoots his mg on top of splash damage that the Stuart can only have wet dreams of.

They are just too versatile and anyone can be good with them. And pros can be UNSTOPPABLE.

I am okw main and it's just sooo punishing
