SVT Cons vs 7 man cons?

    Posted: 08 May 2020 12:47 AM PDT

I'm experimenting with Soviet Airborne right now.

SVT's basicaly turn half the squad into Penals right? That sounds....okay?

I'm just wondering if I should just save for 7 man cons instead, even with the doctrine.

What are your experiences with SVT Cons?

    to crash someone game?

I was winning a 1v1 and the enemy had lost two of his tanks from a dive and seconds afterwards my game bug splats.

Could it be coincidence or not?

Any hotkeys or bindings or shortcuts the tutorials dont go over? How much should i play to get comfortable before i start downloading mods like blitzkrieg?

Is there not really an equal to the Soviets 120mm mortar?

    Posted: 07 May 2020 06:22 PM PDT

I've thought about it and nothing really compares to what it can do that OKW and Wehr has early about the same time

    Best Doctrine Combinations?

    Posted: 07 May 2020 05:48 PM PDT

Just was reading another thread mentioning Doctrine Combos, thought it deserves a discussion.

Which Doctrine Combos are the most interesting/strong? Why? It would be also helpful to know their strengths and weaknesses, usual build order and brief strat description.

Its a shame the Matilda will never see the light of day in Coh2... at least we have europe at war.

    Looking for a training partner.

    Posted: 07 May 2020 10:19 AM PDT

Hello fellow commanders as the title says I am looking for someone to practice with for 1v1 matches in order to increase my skill level in the game. Currently I am at a 10 rank with a 50 percent win ratio....not the greatest I know and that is why I am looking to improve. I am an american so if that is a problem for you I understand, but I am willing to work around your time schedule in order to improve. My objective is to not only improve my game sense and play, but hopefully help you as well.

Thank you all for your time,

    IS-2 is a joke

    Posted: 07 May 2020 02:46 AM PDT

I dont understand what was the reason for such a huge nerf.

Yes, IS was always an underdog compared to Tiger, but its armor was the only thing that was giving it some kind of an edge in a battle, just a little advantage that compensate for all its weaknesess

Now the armor is gone and IS-2 is just worse than Tiger in every possible way for the same price! Look, i know how balance work and im not saying IS-2 should 1v1 panther or 1v1 Tiger (but is was possible before) im just saying it should give something for 230 fuel, but IS-2 is useless now and just a little bit better than a kv-1

Was the few deflects from IS-2 armor too much for german AT? Allied ATs and TDs still struggle to penatrate panthers, brummbars and even the PZ4 J but i suppose its not "frustrating" enough to balance?

So what u guys think bout new IS-2? I appreciate the mod team work but think they pushed too much this time

Whats the drop rate for doctrines?

    Posted: 07 May 2020 02:10 PM PDT

Hey all. So apparently commanders can drop from crates?

I have 270 hours in game, and Ive played over 250 multiplayer matches, but all I've ever gotten is skins and Intel bulletins. Twice I got 500 supply but thats basically worthless.

I did the math, and I've gotten 34 intel bulletins, 26 skins, and 2 drops of 500 supply

new player looking for soviet advice

    Posted: 07 May 2020 05:44 AM PDT

Hey pretty new player, 25 hrs.

I'm really interested in soviets so far and I got 14 wins and 10 losses with them so far, so i'm having somewhat of a success with them.

my main issue is a proper build? i'm new to coh2 and didn't realise there was like.. actual builds and i've been kinda ramboing what i need on the spot, like enemy pushes for tanks then i counter it with AT etc,

my question is, what are some good soviet build orders i can follow? my micro is okay, but i'm still learning. And how do I play midgame soviets? i feel like my steam runs out in midgame, I have a lot to improve so i figured I ask here.

Also are any of the default soviet commanders even good? I found the commander with the IS-2 is decent, and also soviet guard units are great.

Trying to get better with USF.

    Posted: 07 May 2020 08:05 AM PDT

I'm pretty good with all factions but the USF. I find them somewhat difficult to master. When I go against someone good as them they are pretty tough to beat but when I be them I sometimes just get crushed lol. I don't rly have a go to doctrine either since I've barley played as them. I see people use I&R pathfinders a lot and rangers/Pershing . So I assume those doctrines are the best. Does anyone know the build order/ 3 best docs to use and some strategy's. (I know lots of ppl rely on the USF's smoke abilities but that's about it.

    What's your favorite commander?

    Posted: 06 May 2020 09:51 PM PDT

UKF - Special Weapons, tank hunter now with PIATs have been a life saver early game, and it's easy to support teammates giving them better guns with the support half-track in team matches.
-Also Royal Engineers, fun to play.

USF - Riflemen, everything is about this doctrine is perfect, nuff said, I don't use any other commanders for USF.

OKW - Overwatch, the Goliath is cool and all, but I mostly like it for the Arty and Yeager. Mixing them with Sturms for anti Infantry duties is potent af. Elite Armor is good too, even if the scout car is kinda useless after the early game in terms of combat support.

I don't really play the other factions, aside from Wehr, sometimes Yeager, sometimes Elite troops.

Assault support or joint operations? OST commanders

    Posted: 07 May 2020 09:36 AM PDT

Which do you think is better?

assault support has more strikes you can call in and also the opel but the joint operations has the howitzer and that amazing PAK with a nice scout but has nothing in terms of special units or strikes.

    Why don't snipers suppress?

    Posted: 07 May 2020 10:27 AM PDT

Snipers are a terrifying element of war, but in company of heroes they kinda suck unless you have excellent micro skills.

IMO: snipers, when in cover or garrisoned, should suppress squads in the open and suppress/pin squads in cover.

They are expensive and vulnerable, but I think they ought to be more realistic and thus fear inducing
