Is it worth giving Sappers Bren guns? Posted: 25 Jun 2020 09:14 PM PDT Normally I don't bother, since their CQC abilities makes them a good flanking unit on team weapons, and I usually go Comet anyway. Shell-shock effect implementation in COH3? Posted: 25 Jun 2020 06:20 AM PDT I re-watched Band of Brothers today and was suddenly thinking about this. I don't know whether shell shock is still relevant in WW2 combat but in WW1 it was so much devastating. So Relic can design something like this: Whenever a medium/ heavy tank or a heavy artillery fires and the contact point is near or a direct hit to an infantry squad, that squad immediately gets a temporary reduction in weapon reloading speed/ team weapon deploying speed and accuracy as well as they would be impaired at that spot, unable to move for like a few seconds unless you order that squad to retreat. It could help to discourage infantry blobbing gameplay as well. What do you guys think? [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 25 Jun 2020 04:51 AM PDT In a custom match I tested the Counter Battery ability and I was very dissatisfied and quite disappointed The ability on the 3 inch is 45 seconds of locking out manual targeting and barrages with no upside, period. The mortars should return fire at anything within range of the emplacement right? Sure, but not the barrage range, the counter battery range only covers the default attack range of the mortars. And the mortars will return fire even without the ability active as long as it isn't braced or already taking out infantry. If you want a glorified selective hold-fire then sure you could spend the 30 muni to stop yourself from firing at anything that isn't a tube your allies gave away. 3" CB: Doesn't cover barrage range Locks out barrages Provides no benefits at all The 25pdr. ability is also sad, not just in 3v3 and 4v4 due to range, but in almost every other aspect too. The accuracy is so poor that anything hit beyond the nearest cap is a miracle, especially when you take into account the splash, which doesn't exist. A shell can land on the far side of a tube from a crewman and neither operator will take damage. A shell has to score almost a direct hit on a model to take it out, a near impossible feat given shells rarely land within 10ft of a weapon team. The cost and duration I can live with, considering if I dish out 40 munitions per minute I can keep it on forever and then it is bound to do SOMETHING. Otherwise it really isn't worth it. Granted I should go back in and test if Anvil Tactics affects it at all (but I don't believe so). With a doctrine called advanced emplacements let me advance my 25pdr. and make pits for them closer to the front lines. 25pdr.
