Ideas to differentiate USF rangers from paratroopers in terms of utility Posted: 31 Jul 2020 09:06 PM PDT Hey fellow players, as you all know rangers and paratroopers have pretty similar roles in game with both having excellent cqc abilities, with the latter also excelling in long range combat. I was thinking of ways as to how rangers can be used in more different roles than just infantry that comes in close and kills or deletes units at cut offs or retreat paths (which paratroopers do so more effectively thanks to their tactical assault ability which is nicely complemented by the fact that they air-drop in to the map rather than being called from off-map. I was wondering maybe we could center rangers towards being cqc 'breakthrough' units that can quickly decap enemy points at cost of 30-45 (negotiable) munitions depending on whichever least disrupts the balance of the game but cap at a regular rate, or maybe give them the 'sticky bomb'/satchels for AT? Or maybe give them the sprint ability to be more efficient at cqc? (The third one isn't that appealing to me but it was still an idea I thought of sharing). Posted: 31 Jul 2020 02:46 PM PDT OK the rechen sucks. I can never do enough damage with it to kill anything, or set up the back hits for a kill. What AT do you guys us? I've tried fusseliers but they lack range and can be kinda soft. Puma is solid for light vehicles and can go against mediums, but its rough to loose and has a higher opportunity cost. Yes i know, game is very balanced atm, but there are a few things bugging me... like the kt being penned in the from from a t34, sometimes it feels like the best heavy in game, sometimes the worst. And, unless i'm risky diving with tank commander to call in arty, there's simply no point to build a panther instead of a panzer iv or jpanzer. Last but not least, priest is still way stronger than anything axis can bring onto the battlefield and...that's about it? Pretty sure sov/Us players will complain how axis are still OP, and brits well...brits are still impossible to balance competively it seems. But ill take the risk. Also, new community commanders? [opinion] CoH2 should allow any faction to be on any team Posted: 31 Jul 2020 10:32 AM PDT I understand that it is not historically accurate, but allowing anyone to face anyone regardless of faction will make matches connect much faster, and allow for fun combos that aren't normally present. Sometimes I think it's ok to sacrifice historical accuracy for better gameplay experience. [link] [comments] |
