New commander idea: Tank Destroyer Company (USF)

    Posted: 15 Sep 2020 07:14 AM PDT

Engage German heavy armor using long range and flanking maneuvers. Support maneuver elements with air superiority and sustainment troops.

0CP: Assault Engineers - same as in other US doctrines but in keeping with the TD theme, these Engineers can get bazooka upgrades (2 for 100 muni, weapon rack upgrade not needed).

0CP: M18 Hellcat - similar to the M18 in CoH1. Faster than the M10 & M36 and can get a .50cal. Must be built from BN HQ.

    3CP: Recon overflight

5CP: Spotting scope. Works the same as Wehr scope and all USF vehicles can get it.

12CP: P-47 AT strafe - shoot a bunch of rockets like the Airborne Co. version.

Thoughts? I propose this commander because I feel that USF tank destroyers are not at all inline with historic American tank destroyer doctrine which was to engage the Germans from long range and be the ones to shoot first while being fast enough to escape, react, or get into a better position. The fact that USF TDs in game have the same line of sight as normal tanks means you cannot use them as intended and it only make your expensive vehicle (M36) more vulnerable than it already is. Once you can see the Panther and shoot it, the Panther can also see you and shoot you. Of course, Panthers will almost always win.

Is it true that MG accuracy bulletins increase suppression?

    Posted: 15 Sep 2020 06:34 PM PDT

I heard that suppression points are actually applied on Hits, hence why for example Pgrens are hard to suppress, while cons get insta suppressed.

If so, that means accuracy bulletins increase suppression right?

How to beat USF as OST

    Posted: 15 Sep 2020 09:00 AM PDT

    This might sound odd, but…

I'm struggling against USF as OST. I ALWAYS lose when the opponent is USF.

In early game I can't win any battles, which means they secure the two fuels. They push me back to base with their riflemen. MG gets flanked pretty easily, because my Grenadiers can't hold the line. And the Stuart comes out when I have no AT due to lack of fuel. That's the end.

Their infantry (including engineers…) seems invincible for me. They just deploy numerous infantry(3+ riflemen, those officers, and sometimes rangers), overwhelm my three or four Grenadiers, and steal my MG42 or Pak in the end.

I've tried a sniper and light vehicles. Sniper worked well, but couldn't turn the tide. Light vehicle is no use after they get that damned Stuart.

It's really frustrating and not fun at all when vs USF. I hate them. SOV and UKF are fun to play against because their infantry have cons as well as pros. (For example the Brits IS turns to be weak when out of cover.)

I need some advice for early infantry battles. Any tips will be appreciated. Sorry for my bad English.

    How to play Wehrmacht?

    Posted: 15 Sep 2020 01:58 AM PDT

I just got into CoH2 and starting to play as Wehrmacht faction. And I found this faction is fun to play. How do I master this faction? Ps.Recommended commanders?

Is the demo still out there?

I'm interested, but I just want to see the demo before I buy proper so I know I like the mechanics.

Brits are the only faction who don't have tank traps

    Posted: 14 Sep 2020 11:33 PM PDT

At least all the other factions have some kind of doctrine that grants tank traps. This seems dumb to me because Brits are supposed to be a defensive faction, and barb wire doesn't do much once vehicles roll out.

I think for the UKF's tier 4 between Hammer and Anvil, going Anvil if Sappers go with the heavy engineer section it should allow them to construct tank traps since Anvil is supposed to be made for defensive play anyway. Plus it would give anvil more incentive to pick since everyone knows the Comet is better than the Churchill. Thoughts?

I saw a post earlier about a new USF company commander idea that's call "support company" if they do make a supportive commander who here wishes to see US combat medic in the game?

Against AI on the DLC mission with the Tiger IV); Second difficulty setting. Won the mission first time. AI spammed AT and Penal constantly but the Tiger, I possessed ran and fought constantly, alongside the Storm troopers (hold-fire) ability was incredibly useful. (Greenshot is the capturing app)
