    Give Engineers/Pios/RE/Sappers/SturmPs +1 vision with mine sweepers

    Engineer units already have extended vision compared to regular infantry units, but when equipped with a mine sweeper, they should get a small boost to that vision range. It would make the mine sweeper squads more useful as they're running point to begin with and lose a weapon slot. Sweeping mines is great and all, but they turn into mince meat on the assault. Give em sight!

    Theater of war 1941 Germany is fucking useless

    So I completed all 4 Soviet AI skirmishes on general difficulty, all under 30 minutes. I thought "The matches were quite balanced. My inf are shit against german ones. My tanks are great but I still had to watch for enemy anti tank rifles and AT guns. At least I could finish it if I plan my moves and engagements well."
    Then I tried the Germans on general difficulty.
    It is so damn useless compared to the Soviets. First, only 1 REAL AT unit (the fucking pak 40). Even then, the AI is smart and always drive out of the AT gun's line of fire and shoot the gun crew 's flank. Repositioning never helps cuz the tank is faster than 4 morons carrying a sluggish AT gun. On general difficulty the AI tanks' main guns are too accurate and their hull MGs are too powerful so the AT crew always die. The damage from the AT gun is never enough because the smart AI would retreat the tanks and there is no way an AT gun can chase it. Other than the pak 40 (which is quite good tbh, decent accuracy and decent penetration), the Germans have no effective AT measures. Panzergrenadiers is a joke because they have MP40 instead of STG44 so they cant even kill infantry, yet that AT rifle is so weak that they might as well throw a rock at a T-34 or KV-1. Grenadiers' AT rifle grenades can cause engine critical but the real damage is pathetic. And every shells from the tank cannons can kill at least 1 squad member. I do not even want to talk about the tanks because they are the worst thing you can use for 1941 Germany. The Stug E with the short barrel apparently is only recruited with a blind crew. It cannot hit infantry even if they are in front of it. It can do nothing against a T-34 or KV-1. The lack of turret and MG also means it is free kill for AI's penal battalions spam with AT rifles. The Panzer 4 F1 is also a piece of shit. It is more accurate than the Stug but it is only good against infantry. T-34 and KV-1 annihilate it in every engagement. I have tried the stormtroopers with panzershreck. They can pen T-34 or KV-1 but the tanks have so much hp that I usually have to use 4 stormtroopers (1 panzershreck for each squad) to gang up on a T-34 to kill it. I have also tried the Puma. It is good against tanks......until the tanks come to shoot you. The Puma has no armor at all. Despite its ability to pen T-34 and KV-1 easily from the sides, it still has trouble going through the front. Considering that t-34 can take about 6 Puma shots before dying and KV-1 can take 10, while Puma will die from 3 T-34/KV-1 shots. It is not effective.

    Second, German inf are not much better than Soviets. Maxim HMG deploys a lot faster than MG42 and it means Maxim can help offensive while MG42 is usually limited to defensive. Conscripts are shit but they are cheap af. Penal battalions are about similar quality and cost to grenadiers but 6 man over 4 man is a big advantage in survivability. Panzergrenadiers are useless cuz MP40 is useless. I have never seen MP40-welding pioneers kill units well, even in close range where smg would excel. Sniper is inferior to the Soviet one because the soviet one has 2 man and it means it can survive a lot easier. Only the grenadiers are always useful because they have the MG42 LMG.

    Third, the cost. A panzer 4 F1 cost 120 fuel and it is only good against infantry. KV-1 and T-34 cost 75 and 90 fuel respectively and both are good against most things. The Stug E is cheap at 25 fuel but since it is so bad (Stug E can even miss structures sometimes), it does not matter. The Puma costs 80 fuel and is only good against vehicles or tanks if the Puma is shooting at their side armor. It cannot do real damage to infantry. Therefore, if the Soviet AI spam tanks (they always do), it is very hard to win because any tank that I destroy will be replaced by a new one (historical eh? but it is 1941 not 1944)

    Overall it is very hard to defend victory points as the Germans because Soviet tanks are good while German anti-tank options are so bad. Even if I choose to spam Pak 40s, they would either be killed by 120mm Soviet mortar or a Katyusha barrage. Then, my other units are basically fucked

    Need tips vs USF

    I have hard time against USF as OST in 1v1. Here are what I'm struggling with:

    1. Infantry

    Rifleman, Officers, Rangers, Paratroopers, and such. Their infantry is too strong and numerous. Grens constantly lose to them. MGs often get flanked because there are too many enemy infantry, and eventually get stolen.

    1. The MG-upgraded WC51

    I just want to know, how tf am I supposed to kill that little bastard? They kill Grens so quickly, and run so fast that they can't get snared. In every match I have to wait for a Pz4 to blow it up.

    1. The AA HT(I don't remember the exact name of that shit.)

    Same as 2. This is worse because it can suppress infantry.

    1. Their concept of combined arms (lolz)

    It seems to be merely blobbing. They (at least the opponents I had, not all of the players) tend to blob four or five infantry, some of which have Bazookas, and destroy everything that comes in their way.

    Use an MG : what if the enemy included his MG in the blob? Use a tank : they have Bazookas. Use a Pwerfer : I wish I had enough fuel to do it.

    Is USF in 1v1 OP? I admit that Axis have very strong armor and support weapons, but that's just pointless unless you have sufficient resources, which you can only gain by winning infantry engagements in early game. It's always like my one Pz4 vs two Shermans. I'm tired.

    I REALLY love COH1, How diffent is COH2 going to be?

    Hi everyone, I am new to COH2- but reading this a bit I'm seeing it looks really different than the original COH (Relic?) I got from a friend. I have literally been addicted to this game it's everything I wish I had found years ago. I decided to buy COH2 because I am tierd of playing vs AI. I just think the Germans look cooler so I always have played as them for the last few weeks. I find it super fun to cut the roads with tank barriers (couple lines) and barbed wires, where bottle neck areas can get a bunker covering it to mow down infantry.

    I hold a line like this for a while, slowly building and then I'll drop a few soldiers (spare engineers or extra MG 42's) so I can drop 2 Tiger tanks with Blitzkrieg Skill. I get a nice assault force and the tigers breakthrough the barrier; you get it I think- I try to take the map/more ground and re-draw the defensive line. So- I still loose to AI on hard (LOL haven't touched expert) so I feel like I'm gonna have to totally readjust playing OTHER PLAYERS (which I cant wait!).

    How different is it? I feel like I'm going to get freaking rolled in 10 mins trying to play like this in COH2. Can you still build things like tank traps, wire, sandbags, mines, and bunkers? I love that so much about the first game (whatever the one from 2006 is). I appreciate this community and I hope I can show some of my friends this game! I'm literally installing it right now.

    Units freezing not shooting bazookas or running at unit instead of shooting

    AI teammate choking at the end of the game

    So I somehow lost when the enemy have 11 points left and we have 140. The AIs on my team suddenly stopped pushing forward and leaving the enemy to cap. I held 3 out of 5 VP (half of the map) by myself and I still lost since I had to fend off 4 enemies at once. I had six vet 3 rangers and three vet 3 officers. All of them equipped with bars and bazookas/shrecks.

    I am playing aggressively and destroying anything I came across but my teammates can't seem to catch up. I keep seeing and destroying panthers but my team mates doesn't field any tanks, they just spam AT guns and they get pummeled by Sturms and Mortars.
