Team game winrate disparity and balance moving forward Posted: 14 Apr 2021 10:26 AM PDT With the exception of a few moments in time (and usually surrounding arranged teams), Axis have been favored in the match up in larger team games. Due to the clustered nature of the matches, the tools available to axis tend to be more forgiving in the hectic environment of 4v4s. But even though they tend to be favored, it wasn't always ~that~ bad. A few years ago a person did some mathematical analysis on data he got from relic, and posted a massive breakdown of everything he found. And while everyone who posted was so sure that axis were OP in team games, this person found it wasn't actually by that much. Something along the lines of (its been awhile forgive me) 4-6% swing give or take between the best/worst army. And while it could obviously better, that wasn't all that bad compared to how people expected it to be. Unfortunately todays environment is quite a bit worse. And while I really do love the fact this game still gets updates, and I do appreciate the community focused efforts, its quite clear to me at least the balance team has completely failed when it has come to team game balance https://coh2stats.com/stats/week/1617580800/4v4/wermacht You can take a look at winrate stats in the above link. 1v1s to 4v4s, weekly to monthly. When you peek at the 3v3/4v4 data, it paints a fairly bleek picture. The axis have a massive advantage in team games. One week in fact awhile back (that is no longer available on the tracker) I saw the british with a winrate of ~40% compared to one of the german armies at 59%. A near 20 point difference between the best worst, over a sample size of around 10,000 games is OBSCENE. And while it does change week by week, there is still an absolutely unacceptable level of disparity between the 2 factions in larger matches. I really hope the balance team stops focusing so hard on 1v1s, when large team games are so much more popular for the general player base. And if they think they are focusing on team games, then I hope they do a better job. Because this is ridiculous [link] [comments] | ||

Can't spectate custom/friend games? Posted: 14 Apr 2021 09:31 AM PDT Hello, I've been having an issue using the spectate feature recently. Our group of 3 usually does a 1v1 while one person spectates, but for some reason the games never appear in the list of games in the spectate menu. The setting have observers enabled and with 0 time delay. For some reason when filtering by custom games or friends games the list is always completely empty even after refreshing, only automatch games show up. Has anyone else ran into this issue or solved it? I don't think I have any mods enabled so I'm not sure why the games won't show up in the list. [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 14 Apr 2021 01:07 AM PDT Just curious as to what the logic is behind denying OKW players the ability to build munition and fuel caches? I know several years ago they brought the faction more into line resource wise with all of the others but the lack of caches is annoying when every other faction can get ahead economically and share the cost/responsibility of building them in team games. Think 3 OKW players and 1 Ostheer in 4v4, that's a 1000mp cost to one player if they were to build 4 caches and if there are no Ostheer on the axis side... [link] [comments] | ||

UKF Build order - recommendations? Posted: 14 Apr 2021 02:36 AM PDT Hey all, so I mostly play skirmish vs expert AI and can happily win with any faction EXCEPT for UKF. I tried all sorts but it just seems unsuited for an aggressive push early on? Some issues i run into... The MG is unreliable, sometimes not deploying with an attack/move order and doesn't seem to suppress well. Tommies seems to be slow to move and most importantly very slow to reinforce? UC is good but gets shrecked really quickly and has to be repaired. The commanders that seem to fare the best are special weapons (with boys tank hunters) and mobile assault regiment with flamethrowers and commandos. My last 5 tries against expert OST falter around 15th minute. I've even watched a replay of someone UKF vs OST expert AI and tried replicating the build order but somehow i've been facing more infantry then them and more concentrated. I can't explain why i'm failing.... Why is it so much harder to with with UKF when all the other factions it seems relatively easy to win? [link] [comments] |
