No tactical map in Ardennes Assault??

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 01:56 PM PDT

Is there really no tac map besides the mini map in the bottom left of your screen? Its been years since I have played the base game or coh1, but I certainly remember being able to not only blow up the map, but actively use it to move troops, see capture points etc. Did Relic for some unknown stupid reason remove that ability only from the AA expansion?

Makes no sense if so, especially since according to their manual for AA is has keybindings for the tac map shown as O. Thats another thing driving me mad, no keybinding menu for an RTS PC game?? Now Im starting to remember why I preferred COH1 so much over 2.

Anyone ever use the doctrinal lmg with the usf?

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 11:05 AM PDT

I mean its decent, but... you can only pick up one, and its locked behind some very situation based commanders. Like i will use these commanders only if the enemy is spamming static arty situations. Thoughts? Personally I'd at least like to see it become non doctrinal. I don't care if i can't carry two, but it would be a good counter to obers.

    USF Combined Arms Company

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 06:19 PM PDT

Aight fellas lay a wire from here to there. I got a new suggestions. I do this for a joke lol. They never be added anyway but if they do, this will probably the closest 1.

Combined Arms Company ( America can now win every games with Riflemen aided by Crocodile and Pershing while Combined arms can send the German back to Berlin.)

0 CP : Advanced Infantry Equipment.

0 CP : Sherman Crocodile. That's it boys, the first fire armor that is missing from this game. Just like KV8 but sherman. Can be upgraded with bulldozer.

    Combined arms

2 CP : Assault Package. Riflemen can be upgraded with 4x Thompson. Add Thermite, use against armor vehicles and they will slowly do damage over time. (must be planted from the tank rear!!) and if that doesn't make any sense then we can probably add smoke grenade or M1916 Machine Gun.

    Pershing

    OKW Terror Doctrine

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 09:02 AM PDT

Fellas! I have a new Commander suggestion for our lovely little faction.

Terror Doctrine ( Use scary little noise and appearance to fight the enemy. Officer and Tiger can buff Volks and Force Retreat enemies while supported by Stuka and Nebelwerfer.)

    2 CP : Sturm Offizier.

5 CP : Nebelwerfer 42. The weapons that OKW needed. Read from wiki it said this gun has scary firing sounds. So it's a "terror". Get it? TO SCARE THE ENEMY

12 CP : Stuka Close Air Support. Such terror.

12 CP: Tiger. Wow such terror.

2 CP : For the Fatherland. From the Overwatch Doctrine.

    OST Panzergrenadiers

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 09:48 AM PDT

Hi guys, i want ask if using pgens over normal grenadiers. So is this a legit strategy? I tried it against friends and AI and it seems solid. But would it stand against players? Thanks

Edit: I usually take 4 pgrens and give 2 panzershrek and 2 G43 rifles. Is it good idea or is ot better leave them with their original guns as they are good. I mostly plays lightning war doctrine, but i think it can work with ellite troops too.

Second Try at a Pershing + Assault Engineer Company

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 10:46 AM PDT

Hello guys, here's another idea that lets you use AE as your main infantry along with the Pershings that can be repaired. The cost for this synergy is no off-map smoke nor Rangers. Enjoy:

    Armored Breakthrough Company:

    0 CP: Assault Engineers

The old reliables, powerful infantry that can be upgraded with BARs and Flamethrowers for even more versatility.

    1 CP: Assault Support Munitions

81mm mortars can fire White Phosphorus and Flare rounds.

3 CP: Rifleman Tank Hunter Training

Riflemen can be upgraded with Tank Hunter Training. They get the passive bazooka bonus and can deploy AT mines as well as tank traps. Comes in at the same tier as Paratroopers who also have that ability and are better overall except the Vet 1 snare available to Riflemen so this should be fairly balanced. Counterpart to x2 Panzerschreck Panzerfüsiliers really.

    4 CP: Bolstered Crews

All team weapon crews can now reinforce with 1 more man and will gain experience 25% faster.

    12 CP: Pershing Heavy Tank

The American Panther that can kill infantry, you can't go wrong with Pershing. Just keep your engineers close.

Is the saving taking a long time (up to 15 min) bug in COH 1 fixed?

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 05:12 PM PDT

Sorry if this is not the place to post it. I searched the steam forums and found a lot of reports but no fix or response by Relic. Basically, when playing any of the COH 1 steam versions, whenever I save a game it takes 15 minutes (game freezes meanwhile) to do so. I was really looking foward to enjoy the game, so I'd appreciate if anybody knows a fix (it seems this issue is somewhat widespread)

    UKF Infantry Bulletins.

    Posted: 25 Apr 2020 04:17 AM PDT

As many of you know, the recent Winter patch has introduced Assault Infantry Sections as a separate squad available for call-in (instead of upgrading your regular infantry sections, as before).

But do the regular Infantry Section bulletins like improved accuracy, faster cooldown between shots and reload speed still affect the Assault Infantry Sections?
