    Imperial Dane Strikes Back

Is it possible that a future update could could add a "build your own commander' option, perhaps adjusted to some point system similar to 'reserves' in Iron Harvest. Or would this change the game too much in terms of pacing/balance?

If the British AEC has the same millimeter gun as the T-34 (75mm), why does it do worse against infantry?

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 06:06 PM PST

The AEC is noticeably weaker when trying to kill infantry compared to the T34 even though they have the same gun but I don't understand why?

    Getting desperate

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 02:12 AM PST

I usually really like CoH2 and spent hundred of hours in this game.My go to faction are US Forces with some Non-US Forces in 2 vs 2. But in the last days we often get the hell beat out of us and it is almost always the same pattern:Mostly it is an Ostheer and an OKW player who, I must admit, really complete each other. The Wehrmacht player almost always build Assault Grendiers who blast away any Soviet infantry and also the American inf as soon as they get close enough. At the same time the OKW builds ton of Volks/FĂĽĂźiliers and Sturmpioneers to have a doom blob for all distances. After they won the first infantry combats the Wehrmacht has already 2 if not even more HMGs ready which will block all won territory. This combined with the further mentioned blobs gives us really a hard time with dealing either by mortars, mortar halftracks (Panzerschrecks are a thing) or Smoke grenades, because before the smoke screens is established their squads come to wipe mine out.All of this map control is additionally inscreased by shitting out bunkers, at guns and of course a Heavy Panzer HQ as soon as possible to block on (or even) two decisive points by minute 7 or so.If there are two Ostheer players the amount of bunkers and HMGs dramatically inscrease, if there are two OKWs the amount of IG 18, Raketenwerfer 43 does as well. Also dealing with two Heavy Panzer HQs by minute 7 is also not good. We often start to surrender by Minute 15 because we do not manage to breach through if not it usually plays down like this:My go to counter to this is either infantry company with its mortars and Priests or the Urban assault with US Army Rangers and the Calliope to wipe their squads. Both of these commanders usually work out in the later game, if at all. By the moment me and my matie gets to throw and consolidate our forces the jerries we are usually down to 200 points or less. With desperate defenses (and HMGs to surpress any counter attack) they often manage to get us down to zero despite having us the high ground. Also sometimes they trade their lost infantry for 3 Panthers or more while still having two or more AT guns to cover them if we chase them. Dangerous stillmate for us because we have bled points like a stuffed pig for the whole by now.

I hope you get an overall picture and someone has a suggestion what to do against it. As further mentioned we sometimes manage to sen the hun to the sun in the late game. So I am really keen to know how counter them before they start fortifications with the first five minutes. Which commanders of which allied nations do you recommend?

TL:DR In 2 vs 2 as Allies I get overhelmed by Assault Grenadiers and OKW blobs in the first minutes and as soon as they thrown us back to the base the Germans start fortificatiing everything. Pls Help

Edit: By Sturmgrenadiers I meant Assault grenadiers.

Are there any build guides with timings?

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 02:38 AM PST

    Hi,

I coming from StarCraft, I wonder if there are any current meta build guides about what timings to hit, what to watch out for in your opponent tech and play style. Also what are the current objective in the different stages.

Is there anything out like this? I'm new and it's hard to sort out what's still relevant today from what I can find. I watched timeless masterclasses (great job, would love to see a revival), some of tightrope micro tutorials and helping hans guides. But I still feel I'm missing information about what actually to do in a greater strategy sense before I can beat the CPU on expert and then move on to the ladders.

So I would like to drill some build orders so I don't have to think so much about it anymore and concentrate more on tactics/micro.

When is a good time to find good allied players ?

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 07:43 AM PST

    Hey guys,

I feel like there are some time frames where allied players are better than others... Do you have a theory about when the good players are online ?

I like to play allies, but unlike germans it requires really good micro skills to win.

    Raging from accidental surrender....

    Posted: 21 Nov 2020 10:35 PM PST

Just played a 1v1 and I am so trolled. It happens like this. It's neck and neck the whole time and I feel like I'm just starting to pull ahead. I go to click on the minimap and all the sudden DEFEAT. And I'm like wtf? It says I voted to surrender.... I missed the fucking minimap with my click and hit the goddamn surrender button!!! AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!

    CoH3 should be a 1946 'what if'

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 07:08 AM PST

...going into 1946 opens up possibilities for fun/content because allot of new interesting weapons were just coming on-line from all sides. 1946 is close enough to 1945 that immersion of the WWII period isn't broken. Everything remains realistic & (mostly) historical yet will also feel fresh/dynamic.

Stretch into 1946 could be explained this way: Say, the Battle of Stalingrad turned out differently and America "ran out of H-Bombs" thus prolonging the wars on all fronts. This 'what if' scenario would allow for a Japanese faction fighting on a new Russian front. That's just one idea, it can be explained any number of ways (the "how" is less important than the possibilities for content going into 1946 brings).

I know... I know... CoH3 is likely never to ever come and this is all just wishful thinking. I'd be very happy with a simple CoH2 remaster... just imagine this game with updated graphics and using RTX!
