    The end to Seeking's controversy: Relic ban

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 07:54 AM PDT

    Hi everyone.

    I know we've remained mostly quiet on this, as it's usually not our policy to comment on reports and account action, however given the circumstances here this feels necessary.

    At this time, we can confirm that we have concluded our investigation and a ban has been issued to Seeking. We've recently brought in additional updates to our cheat detection system. With these in place we have reviewed historical match data and have instituted a ban wave for all accounts that were flagged as a result, including Seeking.

    As a reminder, Relic has a zero tolerance policy for cheating in any form and their use will result in a permanent ban from all of our games. We appreciate the community's efforts to maintain the integrity of CoH2, but we would be remiss if we didn't add that we are a little disappointed to see how this has been handled by some of the community. We hope that moving forward we can rely on the whole community to handle report matters privately with Relic.

    We now consider this matter to be closed.

    [Poster/Artwork] This game made me to learn about historical vehicles a lot. Just passed 175 hours in this game and decided to make an Artwork. Hope you all like it.

    GTA: COH2 Andreas

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 08:59 PM PDT

    Are you a sensible adult who is tired of playing with randoms and dealing with toxicity? Look here.

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 01:27 PM PDT

    A friend and myself are two pretty sensible adults who play primarily from about 20:00 PST to 22:00 PST weekdays and weekends, and while we are fairly happy with the arrangement (with a few other friends mixed in) I figure I would reach out into the world to see if there are some folks like us who yearn not only for good company, but also for good play in CoH2.

    We're both in our thirties, and generally have things going on in our lives generally so we're definitely not on 24/7. We are also fairly good at the game, with at least 5,000 hours between us both stretching back to CoH1. Most importantly, between himself and myself we never rage and never initiate trash talk although we do take special pleasure in beating down ragers or generally toxic players. As far as CoH2 goes (since this is probably our favorite game) we play 2v2's but frequently 3v3's and 4v4's as people fill in.

    Gameplay wise, our group understands teamwork makes the dream work and communication and being able to shift forces according to battle is something we very much make use of. And if someone had an off game, there is no blaming. Just GG's, and "what can we do better next time guys?"

    We play a number of other games together, and also are generally both strong socialists.

    Most importantly, if you take the view that "it is just game, why you heff to be mad" you'll fit in with us quite well. We try to win, but primarily enjoy each other's company and gaming is a way we do that. We also don't mind playing with folks a bit below our skill level as again, company > gaming is always the way.

    As I said, we have some other friends that share these values who play with us. If there are any sensible adults among this community that yearn to find this type of arrangement of fun and good gameplay with good friendship mixed in I wanted to make sure I am not missing you out there.

    Please do feel free to message if this sounds up your alley.

    How use the Hull Down doctrinal hability from the Wehrmarcht

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 01:47 PM PDT

    I don't know how this can be used in any way, I feel so vulnerable when I use instaed of feeling that my armored vehicles are "protected"

    The KV-1 has a similar thing at vet 1 I think but that does not require any infantry to do it and it's faster

    Is it just me or Hull Down is almost useless?

    Recently played not working?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 07:51 PM PDT

    The recent player in the Steam overlay not working for anyone else? I just started playing automatches again but the only players shown in recent were from 6 months ago, I tried it with another game and it's working correctly for that game.

    Help!

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 11:59 AM PDT

    Hey guys,

    I was wondering if someone could help me out with a couple of buffs...

    1. What exactly does the UKF command vehicle buff do?

    2. The OKW feursturm blitz truck, does that give some kind of combat buff?

    Any help with either of these would be greatly appreciated and would increase your karma

    What game mode do you play the most?

    I know these polls are annoying, but this could help us understand what perspective people are coming from on the forum so they aren't talking past each other.

    Skippyfx proves something; but not what he thinks...

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 09:32 AM PDT

    Watched Skippyfx's several most recent long-plays where he's attempting to "meme" (i.e. abuse) the Axis counter-barrage toggle; he's of course attempting to show why he believes it's "OP" or out-of-balance and if you only watched his highlight vid you might also believe that's the case...

    Skippyfx's Long-plays reveal the actual truth:

    • Of games his team won -- a few (not all) -- were decided before the arty could be vet one (so, moot).
    • Of games won where it reached vet one were won by a hairs breadth... by under ~ 20vp points (really really close , long and difficult).

    MORE revealing are the games lost, where: he and his teammates often echoed the real imbalance at hand... he and his teammates were frustrated and surprised, heard lamenting:

    • 24/7 allied indirect fire;
    • Amazing & numerous Allied infantry;
    • Endless allied unit vision;
    • Impossible-to-very difficult to preserve axis units for vetting into late game;
    • Constant Allied armor;

    The problem with this game is that hardly any of the "influencers" or "streamers" play much Axis in 4v4 (go ahead, name one -- you can't). They seem to mostly always play allies and simply never acknowledge how tough it is to play as Axis. I suspect if he continues to play axis (doubt he will) in team games he will begin to see the real, actual imbalances.

    Allies have it easy. Axis is hard mode.
